TJ Oshie Reveals Heartbreaking Loss

Sad story in the hockey world as Washington Capitals forward TJ Oshie has revealed that a friend of his has recently passed away.

High School Friends

Oshie said in a tweet that his old high school friend and hockey teammate, Michael Tveit died in his sleep July 21st.

Oshie, in a GoFundMe post that he set up, said that Tveit was a good friend of his at Warroad High School in Minnesota.

Oshie and Tveit won the State Championship together when they played together 20 years ago.

Oshie would go on to have a productive NHL career while Tveit would return ot his old high school to work on the hockey team's coaching staff.

The 20 year anniversary of Oshie and Tveit's championship victory passed this past March 8th.

Family Ties

As stated, Oshie set up a GoFundMe to support Tveit's loved ones.

As of writing the GoFundMe has amassed $17,240 surpassing its initial $15,000 goal.

Tveit, who died in his sleep, leaves behind wife Darnell and their three sons, Carson, Cooper, and Cullen.
