Jack Edwards has been a recognizable voice in Boston Bruins sports since he first started calling games in 2007. His calls as the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in 2010-11 were legendary.

Edwards' broadcasting career has been going on since the 80's, and his commentary style is unique and noticeable.

Back in the Booth After Missing First Game

Fans questioned whether Alex Faust, Jack Edwards' successor, would fill the Bruins announcer booth permanently after Edwards missed the first preseason game. Fans were not pleased with Edwards' performance, despite the fact that he was able to call yesterday's preseason game.
Many fans noted that he sounded off and not right, with many others being concerned about his ability.
"Seriously what's going on with Jack Edwards? I almost feel bad that Bruins fans are going to have to listen to this all year. He's either silent or seconds behind and barely saying anything. Yikes."

"Sorry, but hearing Faust and then Jack tonight, he's constantly having difficulty speaking. I wish him the best (especially with his health if that's what it is), but it's time to hang it up, in my opinion."

"Someone honestly needs to check on Jack Edwards. #NHLBruins #NESN"

Could a Retirement be coming?

Many are concerned about Edwards' health and if he is fit enough to call the games after a lengthy and illustrious career with the Boston Bruins. It could be time to give up, as his reputation and health are potentially at risk.
Boston might need a change in the booth, and Alex Faust, the New England broadcaster, would be the initial first choice.
No matter what you think of his commentary, the hockey community would miss his distinct voice and play-by-play approach.
