Nick Robertson, once the most promising prospect for the Leafs, has had his young career largely derailed by injuries. Tonight his bad luck continued as he took a high hit from Charlotte Checkers defenseman Casey Fitzgerald.
Luckily, Robertson was able to get up and skate off under his own power. Fitzgerald was given a minor penalty for illegal check to the head on the play. Robertson immediately went down the tunnel towards to Marlies locker room, but returned shortly thereafter. One more major injury could permanently end Robertson's hopes of being an NHL regular so he will have to try and avoid hits like this going forward.
