Ryan Reaves has gotten his NHL season off on the right foot as he has dropped the gloves already in the Maple Leafs first preseason game.
With the Toronto Maple Leafs in need of momentum in their first preseason game Ryan Reaves decided to step up. He found a dance partner in Donovan Sebrango after being hit in the back by the youngster. Ryan Reaves quickly and mercifully took down Donovan Sebrango for his first fight win of the season.
The fight would end up sparking the Toronto Maple Leafs play in the following minutes. Matthew Knies would connect with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner leading to the team's first goal of the season.
It is no shock that the player setting the physical tone for the new era of Maple Leafs hockey is Ryan Reaves. If this leads to a win Craig Berube will likely point to it as a key to the win.
