It seems like its the end of an era for a former first round pick in the NHL as he has signed a two-year deal with HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League.

Henrik Borgstrom

Borgstrom was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers 23rd overall in the 2016 Entry Draft. He played 58 games for the Panthers Borgstrom had 19 points in that three-year span.

Borgstrom was then traded to the Blackhawks along with Brett Connelly, Riley stillman and a 7th round pick for Lucas Carlsson and Lucas Wallmark.

Borgstrom played 52 games for the Blackhawks only collecting 7 points in that span.

Where is He Now?

This past season Borgstrom signed a 1 year two-way contract with the Washington Capitals.

He only played 1 game with the capitals this past season however as part of the Hersey Bears in the AHL that just won the Hersey Bears squad.
