Kailer Yamamoto might have the opportunity to don a new jersey next season, as he will have the chance to impress via a PTO with the Utah Hockey Club.
The Utah Hockey Club has signed Kailer Yamamoto to
a professional tryout contract. The Seattle Kraken did not extend an offer to him earlier in the summer, freeing him to become a free agent.
The 25-year-old winger got eight goals and 16 points in 59 games with Seattle last year. He had originally signed a one-year contract worth $1.5 million with them.

Before that, Kailer Yamamoto had been traded to the Detroit Red Wings from the Edmonton Oilers but was bought out by Detroit in June 2023. During his final season with Edmonton in 2022-23, he tallied 10 goals and 25 points in 58 games.
Drafted 22nd overall by the Oilers in 2017, Kailer Yamamoto has played 303 career NHL games, bringing in 58 goals and 134 points to this point in his career.
