The Toronto Maple Leafs recently removed all the 'o's from their arena messaging and social media, and now they've unveiled the reason why with a new helmet sponsor.
The past week in Toronto has been filled with excitement, and on Tuesday, the team officially unveiled the meaning behind the missing 'O's. While it may not be the most exciting announcement to some, it's certainly an intriguing one, as the team have announced Oreo will be their new helmet sponsor, replacing TikTok and Pizza Pizza, the last two companies to feature on their helmet.
After TSN reporter Chris Johnston broke the news on social media, the team put together a video explaining the missing 'O's while making the new partnership official, pairing Oreo with their jersey sponsor, Milk.

To mark the fun new partnership, Oreo will be giving away fun prizes in Maple Leafs Square ahead of the team's pre-season opener on September 22nd, with the company announcing their excitement to be partnering with the Maple Leafs in a statement.
"Our iconic brand OREO is always looking to strengthen relevance with consumers via meaningful partnerships, and we are beyond excited to announce our playful connection with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season" said Chantal Butler, VP of Marketing, Mondelēz Canada. "It's a special privilege to have our logo placed on the helmets of one of Toronto's iconic and beloved teams and we're excited to engage with fans all season long and take the consumer experience to the next level."
While the focus for Toronto needs to be their on-ice performance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, it's clear that the franchise is doing great work behind the scenes, and now we will wait and see whether this partnership can be more fruitful than the last.
