The Toronto Maple Leafs are likely to pursue Florida Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour in free agency in the coming weeks.

Florida could win the Stanley Cup as early as tonight, putting an end to the 2023-24 NHL season.
In the coming weeks, teams will travel to Las Vegas for the NHL Draft and, a few days later, the free agent market will open, one of the most awaited days of the year for hockey fans.
The Leafs have clear intentions of bolstering their blue line this summer, and a new report from Nick Kypreos of the Toronto Star revealed that Brad Treliving will likely show interest in Brandon Montour, as well as Chris Tanev, on the market:
Here's what he wrote:
"It's no secret the Leafs will be targeting Florida's Montour if the pending free agent remains unsigned after this Cup final. Chris Tanev is another name that never left Treliving's radar.

It's conceivable the Leafs could land both with a combined spend of $12 million to $13 million (U.S.) of the roughly $19 million in cap space that's available to them. How different would the Leafs' blue line look next season with top-four pairings of Montour/Jake McCabe and Morgan Rielly/Tanev?"
With Tanev and/or Montour in Toronto, the Leafs' chances of making a push for the Stanley Cup would be considerably higher. This season, both players played key roles for their teams in the playoffs, helping them reach the Stanley Cup Finals and Conference Finals, respectively.
Do you think the Toronto Maple Leafs should pursue Brandon Montour this summer?
