Toronto has one of the Best Goalie Duo in the NHL
The Maple Leafs finally took decisions about their goaltenders.
Matt Murray was placed on the LTIR and Samsonov signed a one-year extension.
This puts an end to a lot of rumors and speculations surrounding the future of the netminders before the start of the season.

If Brad Treliving doesn't make a trade to get a star goalie, the Leafs' starting duo will be
Ilya Samsonov and
Joseph Woll.
The Leafs might not have a superstar like Shesterkin, Ullmark, Vasilevskiy or Hellebuyck, but history showed that you don't need a star goalie to win the Stanley Cup.
Samsonov and Woll aren't far from them at all.
Ilya Samsonov had the best season of his career, ranking among the top 10 goalies in the league for goals against average and save percentage.
Even if he wasn't perfect in the playoffs, he still proved that he's a number one in the NHL. He'll surely try to prove what he's capable of during his one-year contract.
Some could argue that Joseph Woll was the best in Toronto last year. He performed constantly well, as his numbers show: a 9-2-0 record, a .924 SV%, and a 2.38 GAA.
To say he's promising would be an understatement. He can definitely play an important role next year and we can't wait to see it.
