Since Brad Treliving became the Leafs' new General Manager, people have been talking about what will happen to the "core four."

According to Friedman, there is hope about Marner's future with the Leafs. The management believes in Marner's abilities and thinks he can make a significant contribution to the team.

This should reassure fans that Marner is not planning to leave the Leafs' roster anytime soon. Not only does Marner have the trust of the Leafs, but he also has a contract that will keep him on the team for the next two seasons. This gives him an advantage over Auston Matthews and William Nylander, who will both need new contracts next summer.
