The Maple Leafs need to resign Auston Matthews. Without him, they are barely a playoff team and he will be essential to any team that he is on.
NHL insider Chris Johnston said the following about Matthews' intentions.
"Nothing has changed in terms of the last time Auston Matthews spoke at locker clean-out day. His intention is to sign with the Leafs."
