BREAKING: Maple Leafs Hire Former Rival Head Coach
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a massive move that has left fans scratching their heads.
The Toronto Maple Leafs just announced that they will be hiring two new head coaches.
Must read on Daily Hockey Dose
Guy Boucher is quite a puzzling hiring. He formerly was the head coach of division rivals Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators. Both of his tenures with the teams ended poorly with Boucher being fired midseason.
Since being fired by the Senators in 2018-19, Boucher has not coached at all. This will be his first return since and he will attempt to prove himself as a capable NHL coach yet again.
In addition to bringing in Boucher, the Maple Leafs also brought in Mike Van Ryn who previously played for the Leafs and will provide a solid defensive mindset for the Leafs.
