Michkov was loaned to Sochi last season from SKA St. Petersburg and played 27 games with the club. He recorded 9 goals and 11 assists during his time there. Michkov was drafted 7th overall this year by the Philidelphia Flyers, who are content with him developing his game in the KHL before hopefully coming over to the NHL in a few years.

Michkov's Trouble with Sochi

Michkov has a difficult past in Sochi, as his father was found passed away unexpectedly in the City. Some had reported that Michkov was going to be unwilling to play in Sochi due to the bad memories associated with the City.

However, he was in a terrible predicament in which he decided to either stay with SKA St. Petersburg and not play, or return to a place with bad memories. It appears he has chosen the latter, and will try to move on and continue his career development.
