It's understandable to feel disappointed or even upset when your favorite team is eliminated from the NHL playoffs, but it's not acceptable to direct your anger towards fans of the opposing team.
A member of the New Jersey Devils 'Woo Crew'-a group of fans responsible for energizing the crowd-has reported being sucker-punched twice by a New York Rangers fan during a recent game. The incident was captured on video and posted online.

This unfortunate event seems to have occurred after the Devils'
Erik Haula scored a goal, putting New Jersey ahead 3-0 in game 7 during the third period's final moments.
Realizing the unlikelihood of a New York comeback, several Rangers fans chose to leave the game early. Rather than displaying good sportsmanship, these actions negatively impacted the atmosphere. The 'Woo Crew' member was simply attempting to perform his role.
