With former New York Ranger Vladimir Tarasenko's goal, the Florida Panthers clinched the series and would be awarded the Prince of Wales Trophy. Before they could celebrate head coach Paul Maurice had specific instructions for his captain Aleksander Barkov about how to handle the trophy.

These directions from Paul Maurice come after his team touched the trophy last season. They would end up losing in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Vegas Golden Knights. Now the Panthers are hoping not touching the Prince of Wales Trophy will do the trick.
The Florida Panthers will either play the Edmonton Oilers or the Dallas Stars in the finals. The Oilers could punch their ticket to the finals tonight with a win if not the series will head to a winner-take-all Game 7.
