Rumour: Edmonton Oilers Linked to Superstar Goalie

Oilers need help in the crease

The start to the 2023-24 season could not have gone much worse for the Edmonton Oilers. They have a record of 2-8-1 and sit in second-last place in the Pacific Division, ahead of only the dysfunctional San Jose Sharks.

One of the biggest problems for them this year has been goaltending. Both Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner have been underwhelming and the team is looking to improve at that position. They have started that process by placing Campbell on waivers earlier today.

Linus Ullmark could be an option for the Oilers' crease

According to John Buccigross of ESPN, it could make sense to pull off a massive deal that would send Ullmark to Edmonton. The full deal would be Leon Draisaitl and Warren Foegele to Boston in exchange for Ullmark, Jake DeBrust, Matthew Poitras, Fabian Lysell and a 2026 1st round pick.

This would be one of the largest and most consequential trades in NHL history but could end up helping both teams if it ever happened.
