In yesterday's game between the Red Wings and the Kraken, a terrible call led to a goal for Seattle, and Alex DeBrincat gave the ref a piece of his mind.
Worst Call of the Season so Far?
In the final minute of the second period, the Red Wings were on a powerplay, moving the puck in the Kraken's zone.
Jaden Schwartz threw his stick to block a pass destined for Olli Maatta. Maatta had almost an empty net in front of him but missed his one-timer because of the stick.
The Red Wings recovered the puck, and Tye Kartye scored on a breakaway.

After the goal, Alex DeBrincat, who leads the NHL in goals, talked with the official, and he wasn't happy.
When a bad call like this one leads to a crucial goal in the last minute of a period, shorthanded, it's normal to be frustrated.
"What an absolute embarrassment for a ‘Professional League' on a night when they hyped themselves as having every team playing and every fan hopefully watching. You give them this. The most basic of all calls at the Learn To Play level. Simple call, can't throw your stick, not even debatable. Hockey fans, we have to stop making fun of basketball for all forms of traveling when we don't call this. It's only made better by the fact that the offending team scores right after this."
This makes two horrible calls by the NHL on the same night.
Connor Bedard was also denied a goal after a controversial call.
