However, the NHL rendered a different verdict. After a thorough video review, they nullified the goal, citing an offside by the Hawks.

It's worth noting that the offside was not initially called during the play, and the Hawks spent a significant amount of time in the Bruins' zone before the goal was scored. Despite the limited relevance of the zone entry to the goal itself and the offside decision hinging on a matter of inches, the NHL upheld the annulment.
