At the Christmas break, the Columbus Blue Jackets find themselves in last place in the Metro Division, and now, it appears as though we could be seeing some big moves at the upcoming trade deadline.

Johnny Gaudreau on his way out of Columbus?

Last summer, Johnny Gaudreau stunned the hockey world when he turned his back on the Calgary Flames and left for Columbus as a free agent, citing his desire to win games as a reason for the move.
18 months later however, the move looks like a disaster, and if a recent report is anything to go by, there's going to be plenty of movement around the veteran star, with a trade remaining a major possibility.

Gaudreau could have the homecoming many expected last summer

During that free agent period, many expected Gaudreau to head back to the North East, and now, rumours have connected the two again.
Rumours have emerged out of Columbus that the Blue Jackets and general manager Jarmo Kekalainen are reportedly open to the idea of discussing all his players for trade purposes with the exception of his young prospects, and that includes star forward Johnny Gaudreau - Bruce Garrioch of PostMedia

Now, the links have been made to the Philadelphia Flyers, who have been off to a great start, but lack the offensive spark many believe they need to compete in the playoffs, calling to mind the comments that Johnny Hockey made about playing at home last summer.
I have a ton of family here, all my friends, the 30-year-old previously said. I actually have a wedding this weekend in South Jersey, and all my friends come back here. All my good friends and kids who I have played with all my life are from South Jersey, so it would be sweet to play here someday.»

You never know in sports. It's a lot of support back here in South Jersey and the Philly area, they follow me pretty well.

While he may not be at the top of his game right now, Gaudreau remains a talented, proven veteran, and if he finds a new home, whether that be in Philly or anywhere else, there's a chance it could reignite his once sparkling career.
