Patrick Kane's return to Chicago is coming up in about a month, and he shared how he feels about his return to where he started his career.

Patrick Kane To Play With Chip on His Shoulder In Return to United Center

For many, when you think of Patrick Kane, you will always inevitably picture him in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform. Part of him will always be tied to the organization, given the team's incredible success that he was a massive part of. However, that reality is no longer, and now Kane has settled in as a Detroit Red Wing.

He opened up about how a return to the United Center will make him feel, noting that there will be a bit of a chip on his shoulder in his return.

"I have no idea. I've always played with a bit of a chip on the shoulder, so hopefully I have a little bit that night and can play a good game and help the Wings win."

Now, it's not like there is any bad blood between Kane and the Blackhawks, but there is a little sense that Kane would have liked to return to the team, given they were looking at bringing in veteran players to help Connor Bedard enter the NHL. Kane reminisced on how important it was to have veterans around him as he came into the League.

"Yeah, I mean, I never really knew, right? Especially after that first pick, I was like, ‘OK, maybe they'll try to bring, even like Tazer or myself back."

"I know when I was a young guy, it really helped having some older guys around like Robert Lang, (Martin) Havlat, Yanick Perrault and Patrick Lalime, guys like that. Obviously, we had some young guys coming up that were pretty special players, and that made it pretty easy on me, too. It seemed like they wanted to go in a direction where they were going to bring in some different type of veterans. Yeah, it's what it is. Good for them. You don't think about it too much."

Kane Returning to his Old Form With the Detroit Red Wings

Kane has settled in nicely with his new team in Detroit and has already started contributing significantly to their success. He has 14 points in 16 games, which is pretty impressive given his age, recent surgery and being on a new team. He has even thrown in shades of his old self, winning a few shootouts for the Red Wings in true Patrick Kane Fashion.

Kane's return to Chicago is set for February 25th and will be a sight to see for Red Wings and Blackhawks fans alike.
