The Chicago Blackhawks have made an important acquisition by claiming Jaycob Megna, a 6'6" defenseman, off waivers from the Seattle Kraken.

Megna, 31, brings a lot of experience to the young Blackhawks team. He'll bring a valuable physical presence at the Hawks' blue line. The veteran isn't afraid to engage in physical confrontations and step in when teammates need him.

In 203 NHL games with the Penguins, Rangers, Canucks, Avalanche and Ducks, the undrafted defenseman scored 33 points, including 12 goals.

Don't be surprised if this acquisition turns out to be a complete steal by the Blackhawks.
