With the Carolina Hurricanes season coming to an end with a loss in the Stanley Cup Playoffs upcoming free agent Brett Pesce has a decision to make on his future and according to his dad, he has decided.

The Carolina Hurricanes season came to an end last night after a loss to the New York Rangers in one of the best series we have seen all postseason. The Rangers scored late to pull out the win and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Goal, The Call, The Crowd.

Sam Rosen and Dave Maloney call Chris Kreider's game winning hat trick and The Garden Faithful going wild at the watch party.
After the game Hurricanes star defenseman Brett Pesce's dad Brian took to X to discuss the season and his son's future. In an exchange with a family friend he said that the family will miss Carolina when Brett is playing for a new team.
Will certainly come to Raleigh when Brett's on a different team and keep our tradition alive; vodka shots on me!
This post from Brian seems to indicate that the Carolina Hurricanes and Brett Pesce are expected to go their separate ways this offseason. While this was rumored after Brett Pesce changed agents last summer confirmation had not come until seemingly today.
The Hurricanes have several young defensemen looking for a chance to get into the lineup so losing out on Brett Pesce will create other opportunities. However, now Brett Pesce could have an opportunity to go to a rival in free agency and exact revenge on his soon to be former team.
