As the Calgary Flames, along with other non-playoff-qualifying teams, conducted their exit interviews today, defenseman Mackenzie Weegar had plenty to share after his first season in a Flames' uniform.

The 29-year-old had an impressive year in Calgary, scoring 31 points and achieving a +15 goal differential in 81 games.

Weegar Speaks Out About the Saddledome's Condition

It's been a known fact that the Saddledome isn't in the best of shape. Even Weegar aknowledged it in his exit interview.
"I think we need a new rink. Maybe that'll help. The Saddledome obviously's got some character. Maybe a couple updates could make it look a little bit better" - Mackenzie Weegar
The Flames should seriously consider relocating or building a new arena to improve everyone's experience.
Reports in 2022 even indicated that the Flames' arena was literally falling apart.

Weegar didn't hold back when discussing the arena's issues.
The situation has reached a point where it affects the team's performance. If players are reluctant to come to work due to the arena's condition, it's a clear sign that a change is long overdue.
