The Sabres organization has posted tributes to Jeanneret on their social media accounts. The St. Catharines, ON native was the team's play-by-play voice for 51 years, first getting behind the mic in that role during the 1971-72 season, the Sabres' second-ever NHL campaign. Jeanneret would start as a radio analyst before eventually making the jump to TV.
Beloved by fans in Buffalo, his final season as Sabres play-by-play man was in 2021-22. His last game called for the team was on April 29, 2022, when the Sabres beat the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime.
Jeanneret is survived by his wife, Sandra, their two sons, and their stepdaughter. He was 81 years old.
