DeBrusk Releases Statement After Being Benched.

After being left out as a healthy scratch during the Boston Bruins' match against the LA Kings on Saturday, DeBrusk came forward with a statement. This decision was due to his tardiness at a team meeting. He acknowledged his mistake.

"We have a high standard on this team. I broke a team rule. I understand that there's consequences with that and I own up to it completely. I let the guys down. I wanted to join them in LA yesterday and having to watch really sucked.

More than anything, DeBrusk emphasized his desire to contribute to the team's success.

"I felt it. I just wanted to do anything I could to help the team out today in any way...I'm proud to be a Bruin. I don't have a rebuttal on it and that's all I'll say on it. We're moving forward as a group."

Trouble Between the Bruins and DeBrusk?

There's now speculation about the future dynamic between the Bruins and DeBrusk. Let's not forget that in 2021, DeBrusk openly requested a trade away from Boston.

Nevertheless, after a coaching change, he reaffirmed his commitment to the team in 2022 with a contract extension that will end this year.
