REPORT: The Teams on Noah Hanifin's No-Trade Clause List Revealed
The Calgary Flames will almost certainly be selling more players as the trade tradeline approaches. One of those players is 27-year-old defenseman Noah Hanifin, who is seemingly headed to the States.
Lightning Emerge As Favorites For Noah Hanifin Trade Destination
Multiple reports are now suggesting that Noah Hanifin will likely be traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. According to Frank Seravalli, Tampa Bay is the defenseman's preferred destination, whether he is traded there or not. As such he will likely sign with the team in the offseason, regardless of what happens at the trade deadline.
"Teams that have been in the mix on Hanifin believe that he's indicated, whether it's now or this summer, his preferred destination is the Tampa Bay Lightning"

This report is backed up by Chris Johnston, who also mentioned the Lightning in his latest piece about the Flames blueliner.
The (Calgary) Flames have made a concerted effort to sign the pending unrestricted free-agent defenseman. And they may still have another push to try to get that done. But with a little bit more than two weeks to go before the deadline, it's seeming increasingly likely that 27-year-old defenseman will be moved elsewhere. He's got some say in the matter. He's got eight teams on a no-trade clause - a limited no-trade clause. I'm told that they're not all Canadian teams and that there's maybe an open destination there. But the feeling is he's going to end up south of the border because it is believed to be his preference to sign his next contract somewhere in the U.S. As we look for destinations where he might land there's a number of teams with interest but keep your eye on the Tampa Bay Lightning . They're always the stealth operators at the deadline and they're believed to be looking at him with
Mikhail Sergachev out injured.
Multiple Eastern Conference Teams Bidding On Flames Defenseman
All of that being said, the Lightning are not the only team interested in Hanifin. The Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, and Toronto Maple Leafs have all been linked to the Flames defenseman. While Hanifin has some control over his destiny thanks to an eight-team no-trade list, it is hard to say how many, if any, of these teams are on that list.
Hanifin has 9 goals and 30 points in 56 games for the Flames this season. In his career he is up to 58 goals and 269 points across 654 career games, split between Carolina and Calgary. He has spent the last six seasons with the Flames.
