The Oilers are expected to be Stanley Cup contenders this season and as such, GM Ken Holland may be willing to lay it all on the line in an effort to bring Lord Stanley back to Canada. It has been reported by the Athletic's Allan Mitchell that the Oilers GM may use every asset at his disposal to build the best team possible for this year's playoffs.
Ken Holland has already begun to make moves that will help the Oilers this year. He traded Klim Kostin and Kailer Yamamoto to Detroit at last year's deadline in an effort to save cap space, not just for last season, but for this year as well. The Oilers have been rumored to be interested in upgrading their goalie situation for awhile now and as Jack Campbell has not lived up to expectations, the team may be willing to move on from Calder finalist Stuart Skinner if it means landing a big name goalie such as Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck, who has also been in trade rumors.
