These past 30 years, Gary Bettman worked to take hockey to the next level. As you know, he took questionnable decisions and was involved in controversies that caused a lot of debates.

Needless to say that fans don't appreciate him. However, this doesn't stop him from working as commissioner. Today, he broke an important record.
In a new report, we learned that today marks Bettman' 11, 318th day as commissioner of the NHL. This places him at the top of the rank for longest-serving leaders in a major sports league. He even eclipsed the NHL, NBA and MLB's leaders.
"January 27 marks the 11,318th day that Gary Bettman has been the commissioner of the NHL, which makes him the longest-serving leader of any major league, including the NFL, MLB or the NBA."
Bettman may have taken weird decisions in his career, but he still brought hockey to a better place than it was 30 years ago.
Whatever he does, fans will continue to hate him. Here's how they reacted to his new record:
Bettman's accomplishment is great, but unless he starts taking better decisions, he won't stop receiving hate from the hockey community.
