REPORT: NHL Teams Still Interested In Joel Quenneville Despite 2010 Scandal Cover up
Joel Quenneville was infamously involved in the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks coverup of the scandal involving Kyle Beach. As a result, he was forced to resign from his last coaching job with the Florida Panthers and his status as an individual eligible to work in the NHL has sense been removed. That being said, teams are still reportedly interested in seeking his services.
NHL Insider Confirms Teams Are Asking About Quenneville's Availability
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported on 32 thoughts today that could be interested in bringing coach Q. back to the NHL. However, new news related to the 2010 case has recently surfaced as another individual, named Black Ace 1 in the initial report, has filed a lawsuit against the Blackhawk.
"I do believe some teams considering coaching changes would want to ask the NHL about Joel Quenneville's availability, but the new lawsuit regarding the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks (reported by the Chicago Tribune's Phillip Thompson) puts things on pause. I re-read the Jenner & Block Report, where this plaintiff was identified as «Black Ace 1,» to remember what was included. What everyone will be watching for is what, if any, new information is unveiled."

Blackhawks Face Second Inquiry Into 2010 Scandal
The new case is more bad news for everyone involved with the 2010 Blackhawks. With Quenneville being a significant piece of that team, all other NHL clubs should take a step back before they make a rash decision. We all saw how well bringing Mike Babcock back worked out for the Blue Jackets. The response from the media and the fanbase could be devastating to a team that hires Quenneville even if he is reinstated by the league.
Furthermore, if any additional new information is made public through this new investigation, that could put Quenneville's status back up in jeopardy even if he is reinstated. Considering most teams that make coaching changes midseason do so because the team is miserable, why would the team want to put their fans through any additional pain?
