The Toronto Maple Leafs have not exactly had the greatest start to the season this year. Making matters worse, they have had terrible injury luck, particularly on the blueline. Today they got more bad news as one of their defensemen was given a definitive diagnosis.
Giordano Out Four To Six Weeks With Broken Finger
NHL insider Kevin Weekes reported just moments ago that veteran Leafs blueliner Mark Giordano will be out 4-6 weeks with a broken finger.
**Injury Update** 🚑🚨
I'm told it's a broken finger for @MapleLeafs D Giordano, typically 4 to 6 week timeline range.

This news could not come at a worse time for the Leafs. The team already has three blueliners on LTIR in Timothy Liljegren, Jake Muzzin, and John Klingberg. The later two both may not ever play in the NHL again.
At this point the Leafs defense core has been sufficiently decimated. This latest injury could finally force the team to make an imminent move, especially considering top trade target Nikita Zadorov is already off the board.
Stay tuned to find out how the Leafs attempt to solve this problem.
