Heavyweight tilt goes down in rookie version of the Battle of Alberta
The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames rookies met on the ice last night in what turned out to be an action-packed confrontation.
Even though the game was part of the rookie camp, tension was high between the two teams. Players wanted to use this opportunity to show their passion and skills to impress their coaching staff, and it's safe to say that some of them stood out from the pack.
Indeed, during the first period, Parker Bell and Connor Clattenburg met at center ice and dropped the gloves. They gave fans what they wanted: an intense battle, worthy of the Battle of Alberta rivalry.

Bell started off with a great punch before receiving a couple from Clattenburg, who wasn't intimidated by his opponent. The two players, who stand at 6'4", proceeded to exchange a few punches until Bell fell to the floor.

The Oilers ended up losing 3-1, but Oilers fans can still rejoice as they got to see one of their players send a Flames rookie to the floor.
