One of the top free agents left on the market is nearing a decision for his new home. An NHL insider has identified one of the teams that is considered the favorite today.
Top Defenseman Nearing Free Agent Decision
Multiple sources have confirmed in recent weeks that defenseman
Ethan Bear is nearing a contract signing with a new team.
Bear had been rehabbing an injury all summer and is nearing a return much like the
Patrick Kane situation. Now Bear is negotiating with interested teams. To this point, the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs had been mentioned. However, today reports indicate the Canucks are out on Bear.

A New Favorite Emerges For Top Free Agent
Today during his 32 Thoughts Podcast Elliotte Friedman talked about the Ethan Bear sweepstakes. According to his sources the Washington Capitals are considered to be the favorite.
Friedman at the intermission says Capitals could sign Ethan Bear soon, nothing official, but they've made a run at him.
While the Canucks are likely out of the running they are still mentioned by Friedman along with the Maple Leafs as interested teams.
The next few days will be crucial in learning the new home of Ethan Bear. Whoever secures his services will be getting a massive boost to their blue line.
