The Washington Capitals have had some fantastic leaders over the past decade, and while Evgeny Kuznetsov has been a key part of their team, it appears his leadership skills could use some work.

A major criticism

According to a recent interview, Russian star Kuznetsov, who has been a controversial figure in recent times for the Capitals called out a young teammate after his recent decision.
That teammate was 23-year old defenseman Alex Alexeyev, who re-signed with the team in recent times, and apparently, that drew the ire of the veteran forward.

Calling out a young name

Kuznetsov revealed that he called Alexeyev "a fool" after he re-signed with the team, as he was looking for a role beyond the seventh defenseman, with Kuznetsov telling him that he wouldn't find that role in Washington.
Evgeny Kuznetsov said he called Alex Alexeyev "a fool" for thinking he'd be anything other than the seventh defenseman after re-signing with the Capitals in May.
They then went on to pick up Joel Edmundson, pushing Alexeyev back to that spot, so while it appears that Kuznetsov was correct in his criticism, that's no way to talk to a young teammate, as it appears the veteran forward continues to draw heat in Washington.
