Nikita Zadorov appears to be heading to the market on July first after reports have emerged about his status with the Canucks.

Earlier this week, Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal revealed that the team had discussions with Zadorov about a contract extension before the playoffs started. Those discussions reportedly lead to a contract offer somewhere in the 4.5 million dollar range with 4-5 years of term. However, Zadorov's agent Dan Milstein rejected that offer.
@DhaliwalSports on Nikita Zadorov:

The #Canucks and agent Dan Milstein are not talking right now but as I have said for a while – the #Canucks know Milstein's ask.

Before the playoffs the 2 sides talked and it went nowhere
with Milstein rejecting the Canucks offer.
Now, new reports have emerged suggesting that the team and player have ceased discussions. This would seem to indicate that the two sides are far enough away from each other that a deal likely will not be reached.

As such, it sounds like Zadorov will be hitting the market on July 1st. There were several teams linked to the big blueliner at the trade deadline this season, so there will very likely still be a lot of interest in him, especially after his strong playoffs, where he had 4 goals and 8 points in 13 games. Teams that he was linked to at the deadline include the Toronto Maple Leafs and New Jersey Devils.
He's going to be a Leaf

Be sure to stay tuned over the offseason to see where big Z signs his next contract. It very well could be with the Leafs.
