Major announcement causes disappointment for Vancouver Canucks fans
Ken Sim, mayor of Vancouver, has cancelled all watch parties for games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Nashville Predators, saying security and threat of possible riots as the reasons for the cancellations.
The riots held in the city of Vancouver in 2011 are infamous in the hockey world, and a proactive approach to prevent it from happening again is a smart move by Sim.
The announcement comes on the heels of games 3 and 4 against the Predators, set to take place at Bridgestone arena in Nashville. The series is currently tied at 1-1.

Sim says they are trying to find alternatives to the watch parties that have less security risk and less chance of riots occurring should the Canucks lose, so they are not completely sucking the fun out of the city of Vancouver.
The city of Vancouver and Canucks fans should take the cancellation as a wake up call that behaviours such as the riots after their Stanley Cup Finals loss to the Boston Bruins will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
