The Toronto Maple Leafs are running it back. The band of Auston Matthews, John Tavares, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner are back together again despite a summer full of trade rumors surrounding the latter superstar.

However, here is the list of several key players the Maple Leafs have lost in Free Agency.
Presenting your 2024/25 Toronto Maple Leafs opening night roster.
Unfortunately, it's not a complete family reunion with seven players having departed for other pastures.Tyler Bertuzzi and TJ Brodie are now members of the Chicago Blackhawks. Ilya Samsonov is a Vegas Golden Knight, and Joel Edmundson will enjoy sunny California with the Los Angeles Kings.
This forward lineup is not great.

It's literally last year minus Bertuzzi with an aging/declining Tavares.

McMann isn't a top 6 player. Domi isn't a 3C, Leafs need to fill that gap before the season starts. Jarnkrok and Kampf are not great options either.
Noah Gregor went to the nation's capital in the Ottawa Senators, Max Lajoie signed in Seattle with the Kraken, and Ilya Lyubushkin put on his cowboy hat to become a Dallas Star.
Replacements were Anthony Stolarz to backup Joseph Woll between the pipes, and on the blueline now stand Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. With the free agent frenzy behind us, the excitement now builds for the 2024-25 NHL season.
