Toronto Maple Leafs Announcer makes Hilarious Comment In Morgan Rielly's Return From Suspension

It has not been the easiest season for the Leafs. They have dealt with a number of injuries and ailments that have prevented the team from playing up to their full potential. However, last night the team proved their haters wrong as they embarrassed the Golden Knights with a 7-goal showing against the defending champions.

Auston Matthews capped off the scoring with his 52nd goal of the season in just 55 games, finishing off a brilliant pass from Pontus Holmberg.

The scoring was not the only notable part of this game however. Leafs announcer Joe Bowen got some attention for one comment he made during the contest.

A little less than halfway through the 1st period, Leafs broadcaster Joe Bowen was doing the play-by-play call when Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly made a hit on a Vegas player. The announcer took the opportunity to make a joke about his recent suspension as this was just Rielly's first game back.

Obviously, the play was not suspension worthy, but many fans got a good laugh out of it. These are the kinds of comments that separate good broadcasters from the truly great ones.
