Status of Maple Leafs' Calle Jarnkrok in the air for the playoffs
Calle Jarnkrok is a key veteran for this Toronto Maple Leafs forward group, but now it appears he may not be ready to go for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
From Mitch Marner to Morgan Rielly to Joel Edmundson and many others, the Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt with their fair share of injuries this season, and it seemingly doesn't stop. On Monday, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe gave an update on veteran forward Calle Jarnkrok, and it's not a good sign ahead of game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.Sheldon Keefe on Calle Jarnkrok (hand) who joined practice for the penalty kill portion at the end and if he'd be ready for Game 1
"He's more in a day-to-day situation. Unfortunately, we're running out of schedule here, but we'll just have to see where he is. He's gonna be traveling with us."

On a positive note, Keefe revealed that Jarnkrok will indeed travel with the team, so he can't be far away, but they need to be at 100% as a team to make a deep push this season. Without Jarnkrok, the Maple Leafs lose a key depth forward, and while the star studded group still has superstars like Matthews, Marner and Nylander, it's depth that often wins in the playoffs.

As of late, Toronto have rolled with a top line of Bertuzzi-Matthews-Domi, and while it's odd to see No. 34 without No. 16, it seems to be working, and if they get Jarnkrok back to 100%, this will be a team no one in the East wants to face.
