Stanley Cup champion Steven Lorentz officially joins the Toronto Maple Leafs on a PTO
The 2024 Stanley Cup champion Steven Lorentz officially joined the Toronto Maple Leafs on a Professional Tryout deal.
It looks like
Brad Treliving is aiming to spice things up in the Leafs' training camp. Indeed, he just added
Steven Lorentz to the roster ahead of camp, where Lorentz should compete to earn a spot on the team's bottom-six.

Drafted 186th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2015, the Ontario native will look to bring the experience gained from the 2024 Stanley Cup run with the Florida Panthers to help the Maple Leafs achieve their goals for the upcoming season.
In 230 career games in the NHL, the center scored 43 points, including 21 goals, but is mainly recognized for his defensive skills.
He spent over half of last season as a healthy scratch in Florida, limiting him to a mere 38 games during the regular season and 16 in the playoffs.
The Leafs' bottom-six is already filled with role players, meaning that his best chance of making the lineup could be on
David Kampf's wing on the fourth line, possibly taking
Connor Dewar's spot.
It'll be interesting to see how things turn out for him when the training camp starts in a few weeks. Even if he doesn't earn a spot with the team, he will generate internal competition in Toronto, which is always a good thing to have in an organization looking to go all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.
