Sheldon Keefe wants to ensure that in Game 2 for the Boston Bruins, that the referees call equal plays that seemed to hurt the Leafs in Game 1.
Sheldon Keefe made sure to defend
Max Domi's physicality in regards to a slashing penalty from Domi on Bruins forward
Brad Marchand, while making sure the referees are willing to call similar plays in Boston's end, calling out Marchand, known for his equally physical style of play, by name.
Keefe said that he hopes that after the calls given to Toronto in Game 1, that the refs will have a similar response in the future if similar incidents happen involving Boston, as well as noting his expectation that Marchand very well may try to attempt similar acts as Domi.

Keefe did acknowledge that Domi's actions in game 1 did cross the line, but also defends Domi's physicality abilities, signaling his support for Domi playing tough, but to a proper limit that doesn't gift Boston with penalty chances.
Boston had 2 power play goals in game 1 against the Maple Leafs, and even more of a problem for Keefe being it was two of their best players, Domi and
Auston Matthews, being sent off. Domi and Marchand started their tempers up before puck drop in the first period.
Bruins-Leafs Poised To Be Physical Showdown
As Toronto is down 1-0 in the series to the always physical Bruins, Keefe has appeared willing to allow his team, including Domi, to play with an edge, something fans have been asking for from the Leafs in previous playoff stints. It seems likely that Boston will continue to play with an equal amount of grit, as both teams will test one another on as much as they can get away with, ready to heighten tempers between the longtime rivals.
