The later start time seems to be something that fans universally do not like. In the replies to the announcement, almost all of the reactions are negative.
As a result of the new start time some fans are resorting to not even watching at all which feels like an extreme reaction to an hour time shift.
One fan even pointed out that this could be a literal disadvantage for the Maple Leafs as they are 0-2 when playing at 8 pm this season.
While the new start time won't effect much beyond the fan aspect of the game it is still a frustrating switch-up for many. Regardless of the new start time the Maple Leafs will need to come out flying from the opening puck drop if they want to keep their season alive.
