This off-season for Marner has been filled with many questions about his future, but he has revealed exactly how much he likes playing in Toronto.
«I love being here, I've been saying that from Day 1. I'm very fortunate and lucky to be a Maple Leaf.» Marner said on Wednesday.

Because of the recent extensions that have been provided to other teammates, like new captain Austin Matthews, Marner's future with his hometown club could be in jeopardy because of cap space.
He faced some scrutiny during the season and post-season as the Leafs were eliminated by the Boston Bruins in seven games. During that span, Marner produced just one goal and two assists after having a great season with 25 goals and 85 points in 69 games.
There are some players sticking up for Marner. Former teammate
Zach Bogosian said on the Cam and Strick podcast, that Marner is a good leader and sticks up for his team.
«I don't understand why everyone is always up his ass about everything. I mean, that kid is such a good kid, he's a good leader, he's always trying to take care of everyone around the locker room.
I've played with a lot of guys. He is as good of a person and a teammate as I've ever seen.
With a no-trade clause in his contract, Marner can focus on this season and hopefully helping the Leafs to get further in the playoffs and compete for the Stanley Cup.
When asked in his interview about the season, he continued to talk highly of the team and himself putting in the work this off-season.
«We know we're a great team, and it's just about making sure every single summer you put the work in, you get ready to go, and you get geared up for the new one.»
The hope is that the team, still primarily in tact, can complete and Marner seems to be ready to help them get the goal of a championship back to Toronto.
