It appears Lane Lambert, former head coach of the New York Islanders, is in the running to join Craig Berube's coaching staff with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Lambert's name has popped up as a potential addition to the Leafs' coaching lineup. This development comes after Lambert parted ways with the Islanders five months ago, following a stint as head coach.
@DarrenDreger
just told us that: "Lane Lambert, formerly of the New York Islanders could join the #LeafsForever" as Craig Berube's coaching staff takes shape
During his time with the Islanders, Lambert served as an assistant under Barry Trotz before taking the reins as head coach for the 2022-23 season. Under his leadership, the Islanders put up a solid record and clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Per @DarrenDreger, Lane Lambert could be joining Craig Berube's coaching staff as #Leafs bench gets a bit more clarity. Just a bit.
However, things took a turn in the 2023-24 season, with some tough losses and a less-than-ideal road trip sealing Lambert's fate on the island. But now, it looks like he might be headed to Toronto to work his magic with the Leafs' forward lineup.
If he joins the Leafs, Lambert would manage the forwards, including stars like Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and former Islander John Tavares. With his track record of nurturing players to their full potential, Leafs fans have reason to be excited about the prospect of Lambert coming on board.
