Famous YouTuber Logan Paul accused of Leaking Leafs New Captain
Recently, a new YouTube video hosted by Logan Paul has sparked speculation about changes within the Toronto Maple Leafs organization ahead of the 2024-25 NHL season.
The Maple Leafs have already seen power turnover this summer with the firing of head coach Sheldon Keefe and the hiring of Craig Berube as his replacement.
In the video clip released by Logan Paul featuring Auston Matthews, there was a graphic on screen identifying Matthews as the captain of the team as he spoke to Paul.

As you can imagine, social media ran with it, thinking John Tavares role would be in jeopardy.
However, it's important to note that this could be an honest mistake by Paul's editing team, possibly mistaking Matthews' role as an assistant captain for that of the team captaincy.
It's also possible Matthews will be the new captain, especially with Tavares approaching the final year of his contract. Appointing a new captain under Berube could signify a change in direction for the organization. For now, it's just noise created by one who likes to generate drama for clicks.
