The NHL just dropped the hammer on Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly with a suspension!

The discipline came in the waning seconds of Saturday's Battle of Ontario with the Ottawa Senators. Rielly delivered a cross-check to the head of Senators center Ridly Greig right at the end of the game. This suspension is a clear message from the NHL about the importance of player safety and fair play. Either way this will be a hot topic of conversation among hockey fans everywhere.

The league has decided to have an in person hearing for Rielly which means the suspension will be 5+ games.

Who broke the code? Reilly for the retaliation, Greig for slapping it instead of tapping it, or both.
