The Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving called nine players up from the Marlies ahead of tonight's crucial game 6 against the Boston Bruins.

The Marlies were eliminated from the AHL playoffs at the hands of the Belleville Senators. As we always see whenever a team gets eliminated in the AHL and their NHL affiliate is still in the playoffs, all players with a two-way contract were called in the big league.
Kyle Clifford, Dennis Hildeby, Topi Niemela, Marshall Rifai, Maxime Lajoie, Alex Steeves, Dylan Gambrell, Nick Abruzzese and Mikko Kokkonen joined the Maple Leafs yesterday.

According to recent development, none of these players should play for the Leafs in the playoffs, even Kyle Clifford, who was rumoured to be called up and be inserted in the line up after his fight against Boko Imama:
"The Marlies are done so the Leafs recalled AHL players to be extras, as every playoff team does when their affiliate is eliminated.

Kyle Clifford was 1 of 9 guys called up. He's not going to play. It's just bait if anyone singles out his recall"
"This isn't anything. It's common for teams to call up their entire roster of NHL contracted players when the minor-league team is done."
Sheldon Keefe should use the same line up that we saw in game 5, with the possible exception being Auston Matthews. If he can play, he will take back his spot on the first line.
Stay tuned for further developments.
