Update: Leafs prospects Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan have been named to the Hockey Canada World Juniors Selection Camp.
Minten and Cowan have both had impressive years so far with their respective junior teams and now will have the opportunity to represent their Country at the biggest junior tournament in the world.
Cowan and Minten Making Roster is No Suprise For Leaf Fans
The move comes as no surprise for Leaf fans who saw both Minten and Cowan impress during Leafs training camp this year. Minten played well enough to earn him a few regular season games, and Cowan, who no one had pegged as making it very far in camp, was able to play in some exhibition games, even potting a goal.
What a night for Easton Cowan, a goal and an assist in his first NHL pre-season game for the Toronto Maple Leafs!
Cowan especially flew under the radar for some, however, he has now placed himself in a good position to make the team.
Hopefully, if all goes according to plan, Canadian Leaf fans will have two prospects to cheer for representing their Country over the holidays.
