Maple Leafs Place Forward on Waivers
Maple Leafs' head coach Sheldon Keefe announced that the team has placed 27-year-old forward Bobby McMann on waivers. He is expected to clear and report to the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League.
The undrafted center made his NHL debut last season, scoring one assist in 10 games with the club. He also played 30 games with the Marlies, scoring 21 goals and eight assists in that span. He was tied with Logan Shaw for first place on the team in goals, doing it in 39 fewer games.
McMann is looking to take his game to the next level
It's been a long journey for McMann to get to where he is now. He decided to go the college route, playing for Colgate University from 2017-2020. He didn't entertain much interest from any NHL teams during those years and signed contract in the ECHL with the Wichita Thunder the following season.
He worked his way up to the AHL and has now become a full-time member of the Toronto Maple Leafs organisation and looks to play some NHL games this year.
