There's been plenty of speculation around Nylander, with some predicting an extension is coming and others predicting a trade, and now, one NHL Insider has given his insight.
According to Eklund of Hockey Buzz, the Leafs are still pushing hard to trade the star forward, and while some teams aren't looking to pay their asking price, he believes Toronto is looking to make a move before the season begins.
That source that Eklund spoke too revealed the four teams that showed the most interest over the summer were the Wild, Avalanche, Devils and Islanders, and while there's meant to be others involved, this is a very interesting development.
For weeks now, it appeared as though the Leafs were moving towards an extension with Nylander, but now, it appears they've been under the radar all summer looking for a big trade, and with less than a week until the season begins, this would be the blockbuster of all blockbuster's if a move were to be made.
