Furious Sheldon Keefe Goes Off On His Players At Practice
Leafs fans will be he first to tell you that they want more from their team this year. The team does not look like Leafs teams of the past, which is concerning because those teams struggled in the playoffs even though they were dominant in the regular season. Now they are dominating no one.
Keefe Furiously Yells At Leafs Players After Poor Effort In Practice
Apparently, Sheldon Keefe has had enough of this team. The coach reportedly was furious at practice this morning as his players were not putting in the effort level he expects from them. This is especially important considering how the Leafs have been playing as of late.
After Sheldon Keefe tore into his players during a drill, calling it a "f---ing horse---- practice", captain
John Tavares and the Maple Leafs head coach spoke about the outburst and explained how the team wants to approach games

The head coach addressed how the practice went down and what he's trying to do with this team in a media availability following the practice.
"We would like to start building our game and building some positive momentum. Having games without disruptions is part of that. We have to take care of the first game in front of us and look to build that momentum with a busy stretch coming up."
Some of those disruptions that Keefe mentioned have occurred recently, including the team's last game against Boston which ended on a play where the only players actively trying to prevent a goal were the goalie and Morgan Reilly.
The Leafs are currently 4th place in the Atlantic division. It is true that they are dealing with numerous key injuries on defense, but it is also true that their effort level has not been good enough. The team has fewer wins in regulation than the league worst San Jose Sharks and they are 6-2-2 over their last ten games.
